Job 9:20

²“Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God?

³⁵‘Job speaks without knowledge. His words are without wisdom.’

¹⁷‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

²Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

¹So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. ²Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled against Job. His wrath was kindled because he justified himself rather than God.

¹²Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

¹³Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before, ¹⁴I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you.

⁵For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty. ⁶Your own mouth condemns you, and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.

³If you, LORD,^[+] kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

²⁰One who has a perverse heart doesn’t find prosperity, and one who has a deceitful tongue falls into trouble.

⁵Then I said, “Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips, for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of Armies!”
