Job 4:17

²“Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God?

⁴How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

²⁰Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and doesn’t sin.

²Don’t enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

⁹The heart is deceitful above all things and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?

³³Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!

⁵But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God,

²“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’

^20[+] He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man. ²¹For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, ²²covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. ²³All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
