Job 12:13

⁵“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.

⁴God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered?

^6[+] For the LORD gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. ⁷He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

²⁰Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding? ²¹Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky. ²²Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’ ²³“God understands its way, and he knows its place. ²⁴For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky. ²⁵He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure. ²⁶When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder, ²⁷then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out. ²⁸To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord,^[+] that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”

⁵But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

¹⁴Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.

¹¹We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,

²⁰Daniel answered, “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever; for wisdom and might are his.

⁵Great is our Lord, and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite.

⁶that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
