Genesis 1:6

¹⁵“He has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom. By his understanding he has stretched out the heavens.

¹⁸Can you, with him, spread out the sky, which is strong as a cast metal mirror?

⁶By the LORD’s word, the heavens were made: all their army by the breath of his mouth.

⁷He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing. ⁸He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them.

¹²God has made the earth by his power. He has established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding has he stretched out the heavens. ¹³When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.

²He covers himself with light as with a garment. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain.

⁴Praise him, you heavens of heavens, you waters that are above the heavens.

⁹For he spoke, and it was done. He commanded, and it stood firm.

⁵to him who by understanding made the heavens, for his loving kindness endures forever; ⁶to him who spread out the earth above the waters, for his loving kindness endures forever;

¹The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork.
