Exodus 13:9

⁸You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.

¹⁸Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. ¹⁹You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

³⁹It shall be to you for a fringe,^[+] that you may see it, and remember all the LORD’s commandments, and do them; and that you don’t follow your own heart and your own eyes, after which you used to play the prostitute;

¹⁶It shall be for a sign on your hand, and for symbols between your eyes; for by strength of hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt.”

¹⁴This day shall be a memorial for you. You shall keep it as a feast to the LORD. You shall keep it as a feast throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.

²¹“As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your offspring, nor out of the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now on and forever.”

⁵But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteriesbroad ^[+] and enlarge the fringes^[+] of their garments,

²⁰My son, keep your father’s commandment, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching. ²¹Bind them continually on your heart. Tie them around your neck. ²²When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. When you awake, it will talk with you. ²³For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,

⁸But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;”that is, the word of faith which we preach:

¹⁴But the word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.
