Ecclesiastes 1:5

¹¹The sun and moon stood still in the sky at the light of your arrows as they went, at the shining of your glittering spear.

⁴Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, ⁵which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. ⁶His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.

¹As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God.

²²While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”

³⁶His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me. ³⁷It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” Selah.

¹³The sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Isn’t this written in the book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and didn’t hurry to go down about a whole day. ¹⁴There was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD listened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.

¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons. The sun knows when to set. ²⁰You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the animals of the forest prowl. ²¹The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their food from God. ²²The sun rises, and they steal away, and lie down in their dens. ²³Man goes out to his work, to his labor until the evening.

²⁰“The LORD says: ‘If you can break my covenant of the day and my covenant of the night, so that there will not be day and night in their time,
