Psalms 42:1

¹God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water. ²So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.

⁶I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. ⁷Hurry to answer me, LORD. My spirit fails. Don’t hide your face from me, so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit.

¹³¹I opened my mouth wide and panted, for I longed for your commandments.

⁸Yes, in the way of your judgments, LORD, we have waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul. ⁹With my soul I have desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

¹How lovely are your dwellings, LORD of Armies! ²My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

¹Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

¹God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

¹LORD, you have been favorable to your land. You have restored the fortunes of Jacob.

¹Oh clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!

¹My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer.
