Psalms 104:19

³⁵The LORD, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar— the LORD of Armies is his name, says:

¹⁴God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs to mark seasons, days, and years; ¹⁵and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth;” and it was so. ¹⁶God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars. ¹⁷God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light to the earth, ¹⁸and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

⁷to him who made the great lights, for his loving kindness endures forever; ⁸the sun to rule by day, for his loving kindness endures forever; ⁹the moon and stars to rule by night, for his loving kindness endures forever;

¹²“Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place,

⁶His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.

³When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained,

²⁶if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor, ²⁷and my heart has been secretly enticed, and my hand threw a kiss from my mouth; ²⁸this also would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges, for I would have denied the God who is above.

¹⁹and lest you lift up your eyes to the sky, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, even all the army of the sky, you are drawn away and worship them, and serve them, which the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole sky.
