2 Chronicles 1:10

⁹Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

⁷Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.

²so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; ³yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; ⁵then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. ^6[+] For the LORD gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

³⁴Give me understanding, and I will keep your law. Yes, I will obey it with my whole heart.

⁷³Your hands have made me and formed me. Give me understanding, that I may learn your commandments.

²In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. The LORD said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’”

⁵But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

¹³Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold. ¹⁵She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her. ¹⁶Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. ¹⁷Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace. ¹⁸She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her.

¹⁷who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, that the congregation of the LORD may not be as sheep which have no shepherd.”

⁵not that we are sufficient of ourselves to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God,
