Proverbs 3:13

³²“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways. ³³Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it. ³⁴Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts. ³⁵For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from the LORD.

⁵Get wisdom. Get understanding. Don’t forget, and don’t deviate from the words of my mouth. ⁶Don’t forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you. ⁷Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding. ⁸Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor when you embrace her. ⁹She will give to your head a garland of grace. She will deliver a crown of splendor to you.”

¹⁵Now a poor wise man was found in it, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. ¹⁶Then I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” Nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. ¹⁷The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the cry of him who rules among fools. ¹⁸Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroys much good.

²³So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. ²⁴All the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.

⁴if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures;

¹A man who isolates himself pursues selfishness, and defies all sound judgment.

¹When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the LORD’s name, she came to test him with hard questions. ²She came to Jerusalem with a very great caravan, with camels that bore spices, very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him about all that was in her heart. ³Solomon answered all her questions. There wasn’t anything hidden from the king which he didn’t tell her. ⁴When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, ⁵the food of his table, the sitting of his servants, the attendance of his officials, their clothing, his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the LORD’s house, there was no more spirit in her. ⁶She said to the king, “It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts and of your wisdom. ⁷However, I didn’t believe the words until I came and my eyes had seen it. Behold, not even half was told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard. ⁸Happy are your men, happy are these your servants who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom. ⁹Blessed is the LORD your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because the LORD loved Israel forever, therefore he made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”
