Song of Solomon 2:5

⁸I adjure you, daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, that you tell him that I am faint with love.

¹⁹He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.

¹The LORD said to me, “Go again, love a woman loved by another, and an adulteress, even as the LORD loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins.”

⁸I said, “I will climb up into the palm tree. I will take hold of its fruit.” Let your breasts be like clusters of the vine, the smell of your breath like apples.

¹³⁰The entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple. ¹³¹I opened my mouth wide and panted, for I longed for your commandments.

¹After this, Absalom the son of David had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. ²Amnon was so troubled that he became sick because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed hard to Amnon to do anything to her.

²³But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

⁸My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.

¹As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. ^2[+] My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

⁸Yes, in the way of your judgments, LORD, we have waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul. ⁹With my soul I have desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me I will seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
