2 Samuel 13:1

⁹All these were the sons of David, in addition to the sons of the concubines; and Tamar was their sister.

²Sons were born to David in Hebron. His firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; ³and his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

¹⁵Then Amnon hated her with exceedingly great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. Amnon said to her, “Arise, be gone!”

²⁷Three sons were born to Absalom, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar. She was a woman with a beautiful face.

²the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

¹⁸Jacob loved Rachel. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”

²⁰Jacob served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.

²God’s sons saw that men’s daughters were beautiful, and they took any that they wanted for themselves as wives.

¹Now King Solomon loved many foreign women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites,

²At evening, David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to look at.
