Song of Solomon 1:2

¹⁰How beautiful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much better is your love than wine, the fragrance of your perfumes than all kinds of spices!

⁷How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.

⁴Take me away with you. Let’s hurry. The king has brought me into his rooms. Friends We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will praise your love more than wine! Beloved They are right to love you.

¹“Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. ²Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which doesn’t satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in richness.

³Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you. ⁴So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name. ⁵My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,

²⁰“He arose and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran, fell on his neck, and kissed him.

⁹Your mouth is like the best wine, that goes down smoothly for my beloved, gliding through the lips of those who are asleep.

²⁶As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for^[+] it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”

⁴He brought me to the banquet hall. His banner over me is love.

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son,^[+] lest he be angry, and you perish on the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.
