Psalms 63:3

¹⁶Answer me, LORD, for your loving kindness is good. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, turn to me.

¹⁵Lord, open my lips. My mouth will declare your praise.

²³But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

¹⁵Through him, then, let’s offer up a sacrifice of praise to Godcontinually, that is, the fruit of lips which proclaim allegiance to his name.

⁵For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

²⁰for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

¹Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

¹²to the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

⁵So the tongue is also a little member, and boasts great things. See how a small fire can spread to a large forest! ⁶And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.^7[+] For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind; ⁸but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. ⁹With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God. ¹⁰Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

¹⁹I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
