Proverbs 30:17

¹⁸If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and though they chasten him, will not listen to them, ¹⁹then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place. ²⁰They shall tell the elders of his city, “This our son is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” ²¹All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.

¹¹There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn’t bless their mother.

²²Listen to your father who gave you life, and don’t despise your mother when she is old.

⁹“‘For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon himself.

¹⁴Then Joab said, “I’m not going to wait like this with you.” He took three darts in his hand and thrust them through Absalom’s heart while he was still alive in the middle of the oak. ¹⁵Ten young men who bore Joab’s armor surrounded and struck Absalom, and killed him. ¹⁶Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel; for Joab held the people back. ¹⁷They took Absalom and cast him into a great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones. Then all Israel fled, each to his own tent.

²¹He drank of the wine and got drunk. He was uncovered within his tent. ²²Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. ²³Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were backwards, and they didn’t see their father’s nakedness. ²⁴Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done to him. ²⁵He said, “Canaan is cursed. He will be a servant of servants to his brothers.”

²⁶He said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant. ²⁷May God enlarge Japheth. Let him dwell in the tents of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.”

²⁰Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

²⁶Your dead bodies will be food to all birds of the sky, and to the animals of the earth; and there will be no one to frighten them away.

¹⁰Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water poured on them from the sky. She allowed neither the birds of the sky to rest on them by day, nor the animals of the field by night.

⁴⁴The Philistine said to David, “Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the sky and to the animals of the field.”
