Proverbs 30:11

²⁰Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.

¹⁷“The eye that mocks at his father, and scorns obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, the young eagles shall eat it.

¹²There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness. ¹³There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! Their eyelids are lifted up. ¹⁴There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.

¹⁷“Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

¹⁶‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

⁹“‘For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother. His blood shall be upon himself.

²⁰They shall tell the elders of his city, “This our son is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey our voice. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” ²¹All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones. So you shall remove the evil from among you. All Israel shall hear, and fear.

⁴But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is^[+] in the sight of God.

¹⁰For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’¹¹But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’”^[+] that is to say, given to God, ¹²“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother, ¹³making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

⁸But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
