Leviticus 11:5

²⁶The hyraxes are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks.

¹⁸The high mountains are for the wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers.

²⁶Everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

¹⁶They profess that they know God, but by their deeds they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.

⁵holding a form of godliness but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.

¹⁸know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, ²⁰a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babies, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth. ²¹You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn’t steal, do you steal? ²²You who say a man shouldn’t commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? ²³You who glory in the law, do you dishonor God by disobeying the law? ²⁴For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,”just as it is written.

¹⁴They die in youth. Their life perishes among the unclean.

¹⁸For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ, ¹⁹whose end is destruction, whose god is the belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who think about earthly things.
