John 4:46

¹The third day, there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there. ²Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the wedding. ³When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.”

⁴Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”

⁵His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”

⁶Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Jews’ way of purifying, containing two or three metretes^7[+] Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. ⁸He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it. ⁹When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom ¹⁰and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!” ¹¹This beginning of his signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

⁴²for he had an only born^[+] daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.

¹⁵Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”

²A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.

¹⁸While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”

¹⁵I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”

²²Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”

²Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus,^[+] Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

¹⁴When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him and saying, ¹⁵“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.

³⁴When he killed them, then they inquired after him. They returned and sought God earnestly.
