John 2:1

⁴⁶Jesus came therefore again to Cana of Galilee, where he made the water into wine. There was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

¹⁰Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies. ¹¹The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain. ¹²She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

²Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus,^[+] Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.

⁴⁶While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.

²²Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD.

^43[+] On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”

¹Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in his ways. ²For you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be happy, and it will be well with you. ³Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house, your children like olive shoots around your table. ⁴Behold, this is how the man who fears the LORD is blessed.

¹⁸The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to^[+] him.” ¹⁹Out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature became its name. ²⁰The man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field; but for man there was not found a helper comparable to him. ²¹The LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. ²²The LORD God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. ²³The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” ²⁴Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. ²⁵The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.

²⁹The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold,^[+] the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

¹But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, ²through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron, ³forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
