Jeremiah 51:19

²⁶My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

¹⁶The portion of Jacob is not like these; for he is the maker of all things; and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance. The LORD of Armies is his name.

⁹But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

¹²Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance.

⁵Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine; ⁶and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

⁴Our Redeemer, the LORD of Armies is his name, is the Holy One of Israel.

⁷“I have forsaken my house. I have cast off my heritage. I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. ⁸My heritage has become to me as a lion in the forest. She has uttered her voice against me. Therefore I have hated her. ⁹Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour. ¹⁰Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They have trodden my portion under foot. They have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

⁵The LORD assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.

¹¹“Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses,

⁴For the LORD^[+] has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for his own possession.
