Judges 20:7

³⁰It was so, that all who saw it said, “Such a deed has not been done or seen from the day that the children of Israel came up out of the land of Egypt to this day! Consider it, take counsel, and speak.”

¹⁰yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortionists, or with idolaters, for then you would have to leave the world. ¹¹But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person. ¹²For what do I have to do with also judging those who are outside? Don’t you judge those who are within?

¹⁴The men sampled their provisions, and didn’t ask counsel from the LORD’s mouth.

¹You are the children of the LORD your God. You shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead. ²For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.

⁵Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine; ⁶and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

¹It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one has his father’s wife.

⁶for by wise guidance you wage your war, and victory is in many advisors.

⁶Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump?

⁵But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

¹⁸Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war!
