1 Corinthians 5:6

⁹A little yeast grows through the whole lump.

³³Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”

¹⁶But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.

²You are arrogant, and didn’t mourn instead, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you.

²¹It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures ^[+] of flour, until it was all leavened.”

²¹Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours,

¹⁸Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you. ¹⁹But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord is willing. And I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.

³³He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast which a woman took and hid in three measures^[+] of meal, until it was all leavened.”

¹⁷and those words will consume like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus:

⁶Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

⁷They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”

⁸Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, because you have brought no bread? ⁹Don’t you yet perceive or remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up, ¹⁰or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up? ¹¹How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

¹²Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
