1 Corinthians 15:50-57
50Now I say this, brothers,[+] that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.
51Behold,[+] I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. 53For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”55“Death, where is your sting? Hades,[+] where is your victory?”
56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Job 33:21-28
21His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out. 22Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers. 23“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him, 24then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’ 25His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth. 26He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness. 27He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me. 28He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’
Psalms 56:13
13For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
