Hebrews 2:15

¹⁵For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba!^[+] Father!”

⁷For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

⁷⁴to grant to us that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, should serve him without fear, ⁷⁵in holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life.

¹⁰who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver, on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us,

²¹that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

⁴My heart is severely pained within me. The terrors of death have fallen on me.

⁴⁸What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol?Selah.

⁵⁰Now I say this, brothers,^[+] that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.

⁵¹Behold,^[+] I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, ⁵²in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. ⁵³For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”⁵⁵“Death, where is your sting? Hades,^[+] where is your victory?”

⁵⁶The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

²¹His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out. ²²Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers. ²³“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him, ²⁴then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’ ²⁵His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. He returns to the days of his youth. ²⁶He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness. ²⁷He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me. ²⁸He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life will see the light.’

¹³For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
