Exodus 2:15

²⁷By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

²⁹Moses fled at this saying, and became a stranger in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons.

¹¹He made the camels kneel down outside the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.

²He looked, and saw a well in the field, and saw three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.

²³But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

⁶Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being tired from his journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

³A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.

¹Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. ²Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!”

³When he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

¹³When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

¹⁴He said, “I have been very jealous for the LORD, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”

¹⁹The LORD said to Moses in Midian, “Go, return into Egypt; for all the men who sought your life are dead.”
