Daniel 2:21

⁵Don’t lift up your horn on high. Don’t speak with a stiff neck.” ⁶For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. ⁷But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.

¹⁴But I trust in you, LORD. I said, “You are my God.” ¹⁵My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.

⁷He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the needy from the ash heap, ⁸that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

¹⁷“‘The sentence is by the decree of the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones, to the intent that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will, and sets up over it the lowest of men.’

²⁵He will speak words against the Most High, and will wear out the saints of the Most High. He will plan to change the times and the law; and they will be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.

¹⁵This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic. ¹⁶For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. ¹⁷But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

²⁴He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place. ²⁵Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed. ²⁶He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others; ²⁷because they turned away from following him, and wouldn’t pay attention to any of his ways, ²⁸so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted. ²⁹When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,

³²You shall be driven from men, and your dwelling shall be with the animals of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like oxen. Seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will.’”

¹⁵By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. ¹⁶By me princes rule, nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.

¹⁰Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

¹¹God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor yet have you asked for long life; but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge my people, over whom I have made you king, ¹²therefore wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. I will give you riches, wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had who have been before you, and none after you will have.”
