Psalms 113:7

⁷The LORD makes poor and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up. ⁸He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s. He has set the world on them.

⁴¹Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock.

⁵²He has put down princes from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly. ⁵³He has filled the hungry with good things. He has sent the rich away empty.

⁸Now therefore tell my servant David this: ‘The LORD of Armies says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel. ⁹I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

¹¹so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.

²Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. ³Those who are wise will shine as the brightness of the expanse. Those who turn many to righteousness will shine as the stars forever and ever.

²⁴All the trees of the field will know that I, the LORD, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish. “‘I, the LORD, have spoken and have done it.’”

⁶For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. ⁷But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.

¹⁵But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty. ¹⁶So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.

⁶He doesn’t preserve the life of the wicked, but gives justice to the afflicted. ⁷He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.
