2 Samuel 7:9

¹⁰David grew greater and greater, for the LORD, the God of Armies, was with him.

⁸I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a name like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.

³⁷I will pursue my enemies, and overtake them. I won’t turn away until they are consumed. ³⁸I will strike them through, so that they will not be able to rise. They shall fall under my feet. ³⁹For you have armed me with strength to the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. ⁴⁰You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me. ⁴¹They cried, but there was no one to save; even to the LORD, but he didn’t answer them. ⁴²Then I beat them small as the dust before the wind. I cast them out as the mire of the streets.

¹⁴David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.

⁶Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

⁷He raises up the poor out of the dust, and lifts up the needy from the ash heap, ⁸that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.

³⁴He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places. ³⁵He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze. ³⁶You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great. ³⁷You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped. ³⁸I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.

²I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.

¹⁴He put garrisons in Edom. Throughout all Edom, he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

⁵²He has put down princes from their thrones, and has exalted the lowly.
