1 Thessalonians 5:6

¹³Therefore prepare your minds for action.^[+] Be sober, and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ—

⁴²Watch therefore, for you don’t know in what hour your Lord comes.

⁴⁶and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

¹¹Do this, knowing the time, that it is already time for you to awaken out of sleep, for salvation is now nearer to us than when we first believed. ¹²The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the deeds of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light. ¹³Let’s walk properly, as in the day; not in reveling and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and lustful acts, and not in strife and jealousy. ¹⁴But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.

⁸Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

¹⁵“Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn’t walk naked, and they see his shame.”

¹³Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong!

¹⁴Therefore he says, “Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

¹⁵Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.

³⁴“It is like a man traveling to another country, having left his house and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch. ³⁵Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming—whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;
