Psalms 95:9

²²because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

⁹Let’s not test Christ,^[+] as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.

⁵⁶Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn’t keep his testimonies,

⁴⁰How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and grieved him in the desert! ⁴¹They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

¹⁷Yet they still went on to sin against him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert. ¹⁸They tempted God in their heart by asking food according to their desire.

^20[+] Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent. ²¹“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. ²²But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

²⁴If I hadn’t done among them the works which no one else did, they wouldn’t have had sin. But now they have seen and also hated both me and my Father.
