Psalms 78:59

⁴⁰Therefore the LORD burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.

⁷The Lord has cast off his altar. He has abhorred his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have made a noise in the LORD’s house, as in the day of a solemn assembly.

¹⁹The LORD saw and abhorred, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

²The LORD looked down from heaven on the children of men, to see if there were any who understood, who sought after God. ³They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one. ⁴Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread, and don’t call on the LORD? ⁵There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

⁴⁴Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly and to break my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God.

²³You shall not walk in the customs of the nation which I am casting out before you; for they did all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

²⁰The LORD said, “Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous, ²¹I will go down now, and see whether their deeds are as bad as the reports which have come to me. If not, I will know.”

⁴The LORD is in his holy temple. The LORD is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.

⁸I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.
