Psalms 73:11

²They don’t consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.

¹²It will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in their heart, “The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.”

¹³You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? ¹⁴Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’

⁷They say, “The LORD^[+] will not see, neither will Jacob’s God consider.”

¹¹He says in his heart, “God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”

⁹They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.

¹LORD, you have searched me, and you know me. ²You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. ³You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. ⁴For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, LORD, you know it altogether. ⁵You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me. ⁶This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it.

¹²Then he said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? For they say, ‘The LORD doesn’t see us. The LORD has forsaken the land.’”

²¹won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
