Psalms 52:2

²¹Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit.

⁴My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

¹⁸There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.

⁷Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, “For”, they say, “who hears us?”

¹⁶There are six things which the LORD hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him: ¹⁷arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, ¹⁸a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief, ¹⁹a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.

³“They bend their tongue, as their bow, for falsehood. They have grown strong in the land, but not for truth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they don’t know me,” says the LORD. ⁴“Everyone beware of his neighbor, and don’t trust in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will go around like a slanderer.

¹⁴There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and their jaws like knives, to devour the poor from the earth, and the needy from among men.

²for they have opened the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit against me. They have spoken to me with a lying tongue.

¹⁹“You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.

²Deliver my soul, LORD, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.
