Psalms 44:13

⁴We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

⁶You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.

⁹I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.

³⁷You will become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the LORD will lead you away.

²⁷For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.

⁴¹All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.

³Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy on us, for we have endured much contempt. ⁴Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scoffing of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

⁵¹With which your enemies have mocked, LORD, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.

¹⁹I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. I judged them according to their way and according to their deeds. ²⁰When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name, in that men said of them, ‘These are the LORD’s people, and have left his land.’ ²¹But I had respect for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations where they went.

²²“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord GOD says: “I don’t do this for your sake, house of Israel, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went. ²³I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD,” says the Lord GOD, “when I am proven holy in you before their eyes.
