Psalms 89:41

⁴We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

¹Remember, LORD, what has come on us. Look, and see our reproach.

¹³The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.

⁶I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

³⁷You will become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where the LORD will lead you away.

⁹Also I said, “The thing that you do is not good. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?

¹⁸For the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and my wrath has been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you, when you enter into Egypt; and you will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach; and you will see this place no more.’

¹⁰You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves. ¹¹You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations. ¹²You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale. ¹³You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us. ¹⁴You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

¹⁰How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?

¹⁸I will pursue after them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an object of horror, an astonishment, a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have driven them,
