Psalms 142:1

¹Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.

⁸I cried to you, LORD. I made supplication to the Lord:

¹LORD, I have called on you. Come to me quickly! Listen to my voice when I call to you.

¹My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and for him to listen to me. ²In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

³He came to the sheep pens by the way, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to relieve himself. Now David and his men were staying in the innermost parts of the cave.

¹⁰Jabez called on the God ^[+] of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

¹Save me, God, by your name. Vindicate me in your might.

¹Blessed is he whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

²Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, when I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.

³⁸of whom the world was not worthy—wandering in deserts, mountains, caves, and the holes of the earth.
