Psalms 108:12

⁵The LORD says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from the LORD. ⁶For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, an uninhabited salt land. ⁷“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD. ⁸For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green, and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.

¹⁷Our eyes still fail, looking in vain for our help. In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save.

³Don’t put your trust in princes, in a son of man in whom there is no help. ⁴His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. ⁵Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD, his God,

³Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.

²²Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?

³Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. ⁴For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes. ⁵They shall all be ashamed because of a people that can’t profit them, that are not a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.”

¹May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high, ²send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion, ³remember all your offerings, and accept your burned sacrifice. Selah. ⁴May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. ⁵We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the LORD grant all your requests. ⁶Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand. ⁷Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. ⁸They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright. ⁹Save, LORD! Let the King answer us when we call!
