Matthew 3:14

³Jesus answered him, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, ^[+] he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”

⁴Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

⁵Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom. ⁶That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. ⁷Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’

⁶Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”

⁷Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”

⁸Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.”

⁵For John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

⁶Therefore, when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, are you now restoring the kingdom to Israel?”

⁷He said to them, “It isn’t for you to know times or seasons which the Father has set within his own authority. ⁸But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

²⁷For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. ²⁸There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring and heirs according to promise.

²²But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

¹⁶From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.

²⁵whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice^[+] through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;

⁴³Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

³We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. ⁴But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us, ⁵even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

²³for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
