Matthew 19:5

²¹The LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. ²²The LORD God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. ²³The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” ²⁴Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.

⁴The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

²But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

³¹“For this cause a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife. Then the two will become one flesh.”

⁵But Jesus said to them, “For your hardness of heart, he wrote you this commandment. ⁶But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.⁷For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will join to his wife, ⁸and the two will become one flesh,so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

¹⁶Or don’t you know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For, “The two”, he says, “will become one flesh.”

¹⁰Listen, daughter, consider, and turn your ear. Forget your own people, and also your father’s house.

⁴But you who were faithful to the LORD your God are all alive today.

³His soul joined to Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the young lady, and spoke kindly to the young lady.

¹When he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
