Deuteronomy 4:4

²⁰You shall fear the LORD your God. You shall serve him. You shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.

⁸but hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.

⁶⁷Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You don’t also want to go away, do you?”

⁶⁸Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

⁴These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

¹⁴They lifted up their voices and wept again; then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth stayed with her. ¹⁵She said, “Behold, ^[+] your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her god. Follow your sister-in-law.”

¹⁶Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God ^[+] my God. ¹⁷Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”

⁶I spread out my hands to you. My soul thirsts for you, like a parched land. Selah. ⁷Hurry to answer me, LORD. My spirit fails. Don’t hide your face from me, so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit. ⁸Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. ⁹Deliver me, LORD, from my enemies. I flee to you to hide me. ¹⁰Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. ¹¹Revive me, LORD, for your name’s sake. In your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble.

⁸My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.

²³who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.

⁵Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
