Leviticus 23:40

⁴Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”

⁹After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

¹⁴You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates. ¹⁵You shall keep a feast to the LORD your God seven days in the place which the LORD chooses, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you shall be altogether joyful.

¹¹Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

¹⁴They found written in the law how the LORD had commanded by Moses that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month; ¹⁵and that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the mountain, and get olive branches, branches of wild olive, myrtle branches, palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make temporary shelters,^[+] as it is written.”

¹⁶So the people went out and brought them, and made themselves temporary shelters,^[+] on the roof of his house, in their courts, in the courts of God’s house, in the wide place of the water gate, and in the wide place of Ephraim’s gate. ¹⁷All the assembly of those who had come back out of the captivity made temporary shelters^[+] and lived in the temporary shelters, for since the days of Joshua the son of Nun to that day the children of Israel had not done so. There was very great gladness.

¹³they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet him, and cried out, “Hosanna!^[+] Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,the King of Israel!”

¹⁰Then the LORD’s ransomed ones will return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”

²²Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

⁸A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

¹⁰“Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all you who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn over her;
