Job 9:3

²I will tell God, ‘Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.

²“Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it.”

¹²For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.

¹²Who can discern his errors? Forgive me from hidden errors.

³Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! ⁴I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. ⁶Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. ⁷There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

³⁵oh that I had one to hear me! Behold, here is my signature! Let the Almighty answer me! Let the accuser write my indictment! ³⁶Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and I would bind it to me as a crown. ³⁷I would declare to him the number of my steps. I would go near to him like a prince.

²⁰But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?”

⁸If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

²⁰because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

¹⁵For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy, says: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite. ¹⁶For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be angry; for the spirit would faint before me, and the souls whom I have made.
