Job 36:13

⁵But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God,

⁸If they are bound in fetters, and are taken in the cords of afflictions,

⁸For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life? ⁹Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him? ¹⁰Will he delight himself in the Almighty, and call on God at all times?

¹⁰Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron,

¹²and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless. ¹³Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.’

¹⁴“Behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, an increase of sinful men, to increase the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

¹³and said to them, “You must not bring in the captives here, for you intend that which will bring on us a trespass against the LORD, to add to our sins and to our guilt; for our guilt is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.”

²²In the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against the LORD, this same King Ahaz.

⁴Yes, you do away with fear, and hinder devotion before God.

⁹“By reason of the multitude of oppressions they cry out. They cry for help by reason of the arm of the mighty. ¹⁰But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night,
