Job 34:30

²When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan. ³Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth. ⁴The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down. ⁵A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. ⁶An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad. ⁷The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge. ⁸Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger. ⁹If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace. ¹⁰The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright. ¹¹A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control. ¹²If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.

¹⁶For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of Ahab’s house. You walk in their counsels, that I may make you a ruin, and your inhabitants a hissing. You will bear the reproach of my people.”

²⁸So the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold; and he said to them, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Look and behold your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt!” ²⁹He set the one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. ³⁰This thing became a sin, for the people went even as far as Dan to worship before the one there.

³One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. ⁴They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?”

¹¹Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment, because he is intent in his pursuit of idols.

⁴He opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. ⁵Don’t you remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? ⁶Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. ⁷For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. ⁸Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the manifestation of his coming; ⁹even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹Because of this, God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie,

⁹But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

¹¹I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. ¹²He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. ¹³He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. ¹⁴He deceives my own^[+] people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.

²¹“For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.

¹¹I have given you a king in my anger, and have taken him away in my wrath.
