Job 31:14

¹³For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

¹⁹Arise, LORD! Don’t let man prevail. Let the nations be judged in your sight.

²¹won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.

¹⁹Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

¹²Arise, LORD! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless. ¹³Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, “God won’t call me into account”? ¹⁴But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless. ¹⁵Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.

¹²For he who avenges blood remembers them. He doesn’t forget the cry of the afflicted.

¹³Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!”

⁴The best of them is like a brier. The most upright is worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, even your visitation, has come; now is the time of their confusion.

⁶Arise, LORD, in your anger. Lift up yourself against the rage of my adversaries. Awake for me. You have commanded judgment.

²I will tell God, ‘Do not condemn me. Show me why you contend with me.
