Job 29:5

³Your wife will be as a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house, your children like olive shoots around your table.

³Behold, children are a heritage of the LORD. The fruit of the womb is his reward. ⁴As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth. ⁵Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

⁹Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the LORD your God ^[+] is with you wherever you go.”

¹By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him. ²I will get up now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.

⁷You, LORD, when you favored me, made my mountain stand strong; but when you hid your face, I was troubled.

⁴He brought me to the banquet hall. His banner over me is love.

²⁷The eternal God is your dwelling place. Underneath are the everlasting arms. He thrust out the enemy from before you, and said, ‘Destroy!’ ²⁸Israel dwells in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, In a land of grain and new wine. Yes, his heavens drop down dew. ²⁹You are happy, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD, the shield of your help, the sword of your excellency? Your enemies will submit themselves to you. You will tread on their high places.”

²For you are the God of my strength. Why have you rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

⁸You hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?

⁸In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. Selah. ⁹But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
