Job 26:8

⁴Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if you know?

¹¹Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture. He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning. ¹²It is turned around by his guidance, that they may do whatever he commands them on the surface of the habitable world, ¹³whether it is for correction, or for his land, or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come. ¹⁴“Listen to this, Job. Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. ¹⁵Do you know how God controls them, and causes the lightning of his cloud to shine? ¹⁶Do you know the workings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

¹³When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.

⁶I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”

¹⁰He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he soared on the wings of the wind. ¹¹He made darkness his hiding place, his pavilion around him, darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

³⁷Who can count the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the containers of the sky,

⁷He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries.

⁹when I made clouds its garment, and wrapped it in thick darkness,

²⁹Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds and the thunderings of his pavilion?

⁶God said, “Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” ⁷God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.
