Job 20:25

¹³His archers surround me. He splits my kidneys apart, and does not spare. He pours out my bile on the ground.

¹¹Terrors will make him afraid on every side, and will chase him at his heels.

²¹A sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come on him.

⁴¹if I sharpen my glittering sword, my hand grasps it in judgment; I will take vengeance on my adversaries, and will repay those who hate me.

¹²If a man doesn’t repent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow.

²⁰Terrors overtake him like waters. A storm steals him away in the night.

³On the next day, Pashhur released Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, “The LORD has not called your name Pashhur, but Magormissabib.^4[+] For the LORD says, ‘Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They will fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes will see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon, and will kill them with the sword.

¹⁵I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted.

¹⁴Then Joab said, “I’m not going to wait like this with you.” He took three darts in his hand and thrust them through Absalom’s heart while he was still alive in the middle of the oak.

⁴For the arrows of the Almighty are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.
