Job 6:4

²For your arrows have pierced me, your hand presses hard on me.

¹⁵Terrors have turned on me. They chase my honor as the wind. My welfare has passed away as a cloud.

¹⁵I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer your terrors, I am distracted. ¹⁶Your fierce wrath has gone over me. Your terrors have cut me off.

¹⁴A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?

¹²I was at ease, and he broke me apart. Yes, he has taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces. He has also set me up for his target. ¹³His archers surround me. He splits my kidneys apart, and does not spare. He pours out my bile on the ground. ¹⁴He breaks me with breach on breach. He runs at me like a giant.

⁷Hurry to answer me, LORD. My spirit fails. Don’t hide your face from me, so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit.

^34[+] At the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is, being interpreted, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

¹²He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. ¹³He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.

¹⁷For he breaks me with a storm, and multiplies my wounds without cause.

²³“I will heap evils on them. I will spend my arrows on them. ²⁴They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, with the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.
