Job 19:7

²LORD, ^[+] how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you “Violence!” and will you not save? ³Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.

⁸Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.

⁸Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?

²⁷“Behold, I know your thoughts, the plans with which you would wrong me.

³⁵oh that I had one to hear me! Behold, here is my signature! Let the Almighty answer me! Let the accuser write my indictment! ³⁶Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and I would bind it to me as a crown.

³Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! ⁴I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. ⁶Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. ⁷There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

²⁰I cry to you, and you do not answer me. I stand up, and you gaze at me.

⁵For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right.

⁸For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, “Violence and destruction!” because the LORD’s word has been made a reproach to me, and a derision, all day.

²⁴The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of its judges. If not he, then who is it?
