Job 17:14

¹⁰For you will not leave my soul in Sheol,^[+] neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.

⁹that he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.

³⁴“Concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he has spoken thus: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’³⁵Therefore he says also in another psalm, ‘You will not allow your Holy One to see decay.’³⁶For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, was laid with his fathers, and saw decay. ³⁷But he whom God raised up saw no decay.

²⁸though I am decaying like a rotten thing, like a garment that is moth-eaten.

²⁰The womb will forget him. The worm will feed sweetly on him. He will be no more remembered. Unrighteousness will be broken as a tree.

⁴²So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown perishable; it is raised imperishable.

⁵³For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

³²Yet he will be borne to the grave. Men will keep watch over the tomb. ³³The clods of the valley will be sweet to him. All men will draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.

¹¹Your pomp is brought down to Sheol,^[+] with the sound of your stringed instruments. Maggots are spread out under you, and worms cover you.

³⁰My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat.
